I dreaded the thought of mopping my floor every day. Trying to get rid of the stubborn dirt and stains can be extremely tiring. After a while I could not stand it anymore and decided to find an alternative. After some research and consultations with friends, I learned about Bissell 1867 steam cleaner. As the name suggests, this steam cleaner is suitable for cleaning tiles, ground, hardwood and laminated floors. As stated above the main feature is that the cleaner does not work with any harmful chemicals. It uses just water however, it is recommended to use distilled water, as this will ensure a prolonged life for the steam cleaner’s internal filter. Another advantage is that the container heats up very quickly and within 30 seconds, the water is so hot that it starts to create steam. This water inside the container lasts for up to 15 minutes before you need to replace it.
The cleaner comes with a low profile pivot head and 360-degree swivel along with it to help clean areas that are difficult to reach like shelves and cabinets. The actual mop is available with terry cloth pad, which cleans the dirt spills. It has a ten and a half inch floor nozzle that complements the mop and serves the significant purpose of getting the mop around the corners with a relative ease. The steam cleaner also comes with beads that indicate when to change its filters and it has indicator light.
Apart from the obvious features mentioned above, the Bissell 1867 also has a good-looking handle, one extra mop cover, a carrying handle that is built in, fast release cord hooks and a wall mounted storage bracket.
Advantages and disadvantages of Bissell 1867
I liked this steam mop cleaner because it is quite simple to handle and performs its work quickly and efficiently. The best part is that the steam cleaner is again ready to go to work within 30 seconds. It can clean a range of different surfaces. It makes use of water and not harmful chemicals and cleans awkward places that are out of human reach. It also has an indicator light showing readiness.
A common complaint about Bissell 1867 is that it leaves water behind. This however is not a major problem and I also found out later that most steam cleaners have this problem. Another issue is that similar to Haan MS-30 is the seventeen-foot cord used. It is a bit short even for domestic use.

The Bissell 1867 is a very good and high quality steam-cleaning mop. More than 200 satisfied users have recommended the cleaner. The price tag is also not too high and you need to consider the Bissell 1867 to be a cheap alternative to other expensive mops.
